International Day For Climate Action In Cambodia
The Raja Yoga Centre in Siem Reap, Cambodia combined efforts with the Singing Tree Cafe to organise a 20 km cycle for 350 cyclists to the World Heritage Monument, Angkor Wat to participate in 350.org (International Day For Climate Action) in Cambodia.
We only came to find out about 350.org two weeks before the event so it really was a case of the impossible becoming possible as we needed to get permission from the Apsara Authority and the Provincial Governor and all our friends had said that this would be impossible in such a short time!
It was a wonderful day. Businesses, orphanages, schools and tourists all joined in. The Royal Angkor Hospital sent nurses and doctors to ride with us and an ambulance to follow, we had a police escort to lead the way. John McDermott, probably the most famous photographer associated with Angkor Wat offered to take the photos for us providing a very beautiful memory for all.
